Genesis

Financed in part by OSEO-ANVAR (French public body for funding and assistance for industrial innovation), this program is overseen by Arkema. It is opening up the way for the development in Europe of an innovative and competitive sector in nanostructured materials.

Genesis pools industrial groups, SMEs and industrial SMEs, and public research laboratories within a partnership focusing on the design of nanostructured materials, comprising carbon nanotubes in particular, and their applications in a number of fields offering a technological innovation potential : transport, energy, environment, as well as information and communication technologies.

In keeping with Arkema's sustainable development policy, the Genesis program favors the development of clean processes, preventing the spreading of nanoparticules in the environment, and guaranteeing the health of operators, consumers, the protection of fauna and flora, the use of renewable raw materials, and the heeding of recycling considerations for end-of-life materials. It also focuses on the major issue of toxicological and ecotoxicological properties of nanomaterials in order to develop appropriate experimental protocols and build up experimental data on nanomaterials.
